     New Features of Version 7.0

1. Additional Library Electric Monorail System

In addition to some exemplary 3D models for load-carrying equipment, one’s own 3D constructions for carriages and load-carrying equipment can be imported and positioned appropriately to EMS rail mediums of a 3D configurator.

  2. Additional Library Waste Management

With the additional disposal logistics library, the taraVRbuilder provides static, parametric 3D models for recycling and waste management. The library includes street segments, containers and vehicles.

  3. New 3D Models

  Reachstacker (Library Fork Lifter/AGV)

In addition to the fork lifts and narrow-aisle trucks, a reach stacker for the frontal loading of goods is available in the automated guided vehicles library.  Furthermore, the following parameters can be changed in the settings: the height of the gripper over the connection point, the height of the lower surface of the good over the ground while travelling, and the path that the reach stacker follows back until the good reaches travel height.

  Flat-bed Truck (Library Fork Lifter/AGV)

An additional element that supplements this library is the flat-bed truck.  It possesses the functionality of the AGV system with sidewise pick-up and drop-off capabilities.  The side pick-up of the flat-bed truck can be directly connected with the pick-up of the fork-lift or reach stacker. The number of goods available for pick-up can be set accordingly.

  Portal Crane

A new object for the standard library of the taraVRbuilder is the portal crane.  The crane has the same function as the area portal.  In this case however, the carriage design is a trolley.

  Horizontal/Vertical Carousel

The previous paternoster was extended to include 2 new shelf types.  The new vertical carousel can place goods in and out of storage and over several entrances and exits.  The horizontal rotating rack contains the same parameters for storage/removal at the front side of the storage unit.

  Swivel-belt

The previous turn table can now be changed into a swivel-belt by moving the turning point (parameters: x-offset DP).  Hence the movement can take place in either positive or negative direction.  The picture depicts an example with the movement in positive X direction (good orientation will be changed to 180°).

  Frame Flanks with Side Support

The previous dialogue supports were now expanded to a dialogue flank.  Here you can visualize the flanks height, specifically a left or right side support, along with the flank width.

  4. New Static 3D Models and Conveyor Goods

The 3D models tank container, ship as well as 20”, 30” and 40” containers were incorporated into the standard library “static models” and in the conveyor goods library.

Furthermore, the standard goods library was expanded with an auto and shirts carousel, specifically utilizable for the exemplary EMS, vehicles, automobile and textile.
  5. New Functions - User-Defined Libraries

A very powerful expansion of the taraVRbuilder functionality are the user-defined libraries.  The user can create, delete and edit their own libraries.  In these libraries, 3D models can be incorporated, deleted or renamed.  Every user-specific model of a library is represented by a button.

The graphic on the button consists of the screenshot of the 3D window by activation of the button “project archive” (see picture).

The user-specific library fulfills 2 major demands in particular:

1. The user can uniquely parameterize the frequently utilized models and then insert these parameter levels in a button of one’s own library.

2. Portions, specifically subprojects, of a scene can be completely inserted as a new “model” in a button and consequently quickly and user-friendly utilizable in other projects as well.
  TPZ Save and Open

The “project save” and “project store” functionality of taraVRbuilders is expanded to a new format *.tpz.  A TPZ-file is a container in which the actual project file (.tpd) and all additional, imported goods/3D models are unzipped and saved.  Consequently, a complete taraVRbuilder project can now be passed on to users in a file.<  By opening a TPZ file, the taraVRbuilder administers the potential new goods or imports (see picture).

  7. Connection Point Size Adjustable

The connection point (CP) of the taraVRbuilder (incl. the directional arrows) can be varied in size using a small wheel and scroll bar.  Through a switch, an automatic adjustment of the CPs and the distance of the viewer can be activated.

  8. Expansion of the Navigation Strategies

The previous navigation strategies were expanded in regards to the combined, sorted-percentage division strategies.  Therefore, it is now possible to separate goods into several exits by percentage.  Furthermore, the navigation models of goods (ex. robots, moving car, person) can be adjusted to pick-up when the goal point is receptible (that is, when the exit CP is free).

The previous navigation were optimized, so that division with only one entrance that driving models immediately etc.).

The previous right of way, navigation strategy “FIFO” was expanded in regards to the parameter batch size.  Here the user adjust the number of goods that are removed from the entrance before the FIFO sequence is once again executed.
Example: Assembly of two conveyors over a transfer carriage.  Right of way strategy FIFO chosen, batch size 5 for CP 1 or CP 2.  If the first good is inserted, the CP will be occupied until 5 goods from this CP are taken out.  Only then will it continue to function in accordance with the FIFO principle.  The 5th batch from the same conveyor is thus guaranteed to be assembled.  The transfer carriage would therefore wait on the goods until the 5th batch finished. (integrated in Version 7.0 by April 2008)

  9. Further Functions and Additions

Pallet stacker/de-stacker visualizes and stacks any goods

Standard goods can now be deleted

Limits can be now placed on the source points, so that, for instance, only three goods will be produced at once.

Models and sub-projects can now be blended-in/out using the security settings (right mouse button in the project list)

Importing transported materials allows them to be moved in the z-axis, in order to visualize the goods under or over the conveyor.

Scaffolds are no longer always blended-out through inserting, deleting or changing their parameters.
